About LaBreeska Hemphill

LaBreeska and Joel Hemphill married in 1957. Joel and LaBreeska ministered and pastored in Jesus Name Apostolic churches in Louisiana before entering a worldwide ministry in singing, preaching and teaching the word of God. Always true to their Apostolic Jesus Name faith, the Hemphill’s did come to the understanding that the Apostolic believers in the Bible believed that the Father alone is the only true God, and that Jesus is not God – but the Christ, God’s Messiah (John 17.3). LaBreeska Hemphill was a dear friend and frequent contributor to 21st Century Reformation. We are honored to bring some of LaBreeska’s speaking and writings to our viewers. LaBreeska Hemphill is now deceased. LaBreeska Hemphill is widely known for her extraordinary career in Gospel Music. As a Christian singer, she spanned the globe and touched the lives of young and old alike. LaBreeska authored several books including “The Hemphills - Partners in Emotion” which relates the story of the personal and professional life of herself and her husband Joel Hemphill. LaBreeska Hemphill was inducted into the Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2017.

The Incredible Power of Hope

LaBreeska Hemphill writes an inspiring article of “HOPE”. Sometimes we live in hope against all odds. If we were to look at how great our task is, we would be like Peter walking on the water to Jesus, when he looked down at the waves lapping around his feet. We would go under. Hope and faith go hand in hand. The Scripture says it this way: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for; the evidence of things not seen” (Heb. 11:1). In another place Paul said; “tribulation worketh patience, and patience experience, and experience hope; and hope maketh not ashamed because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us” (Rom. 5:3-5).
