In this presentation at a recent General Conference, Pastor Dennis Baldwin of Virginia addresses the importance of "truth." "You want the truth? You can't handle the truth..." We've probably all heard that famous line from the movie, but what if we ask ourselves the same question about the scriptures? What's our answer? How does knowing the truth affect our lives and our living? Do we really want the truth? Can we handle it? What does the Bible teach us?
Dennis Baldwin has pastored Grace Fellowship Church of God in Front Royal Virginia for 25 years. Dennis has pastored churches in Illinois, North Carolina, and now in Virginia for over 40 years. He was introduced to Biblical truth at Calvary Advent Christian Church in Whitnel, North Carolina at the age of 11. He was mentored by Pastor Z. B. Duncan in Lenoir, North Carolina and by the Church of the Resurrection Hope elders and leaders. Dennis is licensed and ordained by his home church in North Carolina, by the Southeast Conference of the Churches of God and by the Church of God General Conference. Dennis indicates: "All I had in the beginning, and for a long time was a simple King James Version of the Bible and a concordance tract. I came to know, to believe, to love, and to stand for the truth of the scriptures through personal study and prayer. My mantra was and is: 'Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.'"
Dennis and Rachel Baldwin make their home in Virginia. They have one adopted son, Tony, who lives in Marietta, Georgia. Dennis has an Associate's Degree in Accounting and also manages the office of Ramsey Inc. in Front Royal, Virginia.
