"Did the First Christians Worship Jesus?" by James Dunn Barbara Buzzard reviews James Dunn's latest book: "Did the First Christians Worship Jesus?" Barbara gives Dunn mixed marks with kudos for his tackling of the subject and willingness to differ from orthodoxy. She is disappointed, however, that Dunn seems to lack the courage of his convictions and that he provides compromising caveats to his own work.
"Jesus Wars" by Phillip Jenkins Never shrinking from a challenge, Barbara Buzzard reviews the controversial book "Jesus Wars," by Phillip Jenkins. All who have an interest in how we got to where we are as Christianity will want to take in Barbara's review and get the book to read for themselves.
"Jesus Was Not a Trinitarian" by Anthony Buzzard Clifford Durousseau who is notable for his work in One God issues, reviews Anthony Buzzard's popular book "Jesus was not a Trinitarian." Durousseau's review is direct – to the point – and not to be missed.
"Letters Addressed to Relatives and Friends" by Mary Dana "Letters Addressed to Relatives and Friends" by Mary Dana. In this exceptional book by an exceptional woman, Barbara Buzzard finds encouragement for all One God believers today.
"Surprised by Hope" by N. T. Wright Book reviewer par-excellence Barbara Buzzard takes on "Surprised by Hope" the important recent book by the eminent N. T. Wright. Barbara is well up to the challenge of bringing us a sound consideration of this amazing writing by the Bishop of Durham.
*"The Faiths of Our Fathers"* by Alf J. Mapp In this engaging presentation, Pastor Mark Jones gives an excellent incursion into the religious thinking of America's founding fathers. Speaking from the book: "The Faiths of Our Fathers," by Alf J. Mapp, Jr., Pastor Jones brings us understanding regarding the faith of such historical figures as: Washington, Jefferson, Adams and others.				MP3 WMV
"The Only True God" by James F. McGrath Barbara Buzzard favors us with a review of "The Only True God" by Dr. James F. McGrath. She gives Dr. McGrath high marks for his treatment of many of the issues of biblical monotheism including his opposition to the "creative" work of some scholars who would "split" or otherwise "abuse" (Barbara's term) the Shema. She is disappointed, however, that McGrath ultimately casts his lot with an admittedly post-biblical view of God rather than the clear monotheism of Jesus.
"The Restitution of Jesus Christ" by Kermit Zarley Read Barbara Buzzard's review of the book "The Restitution of Jesus Christ" by Kermit Zarley (Servetus the Evangelical). Barbara brings us an overview of Zarley's compre-hensive new work about Christology which contrasts the Jesus of the Bible with the "Jesus" of later church traditions.
"They Never Told Me This in Church!" By Greg Deuble "They Never Told Me This in Church!" by Greg Deuble reviewed by Barbara Buzzard. Mr. Deuble is Australian and the reader will be treated to a wonderful variety of Aussie slang which is sprinkled throughout the book and makes for thoughtful and colorful reading.
"To God Be The Glory" by Joel Hemphill In one of her most notable reviews to date, Barbara Buzzard brings us a review of the amazing book, "To God be the Glory" by Joel Hemphill. Barbara well captures the sense of the book for her reader and gives us an excellent synopsis of what has already become a "One God" classic.
"Tyranny of the Trinity" by P. R. Lackey "An angry Christian author!" Barbara Buzzard reviews P.R. Lackey who is incensed at the spirit of violence that has pervaded Christian orthodoxy. She is disturbed by those Christians today who are oblivious, uncaring and who sometimes perpetuate that same awful spirit.
"When Jesus Became God" by Richard E. Rubenstein When Jesus became God" is a book that has gained considerable attention among those interested in the development of post-biblical orthodoxy as well as Christians in the pew who dare to wonder how we got where we are in terms of Christian beliefs. Barbara relates "My thanks and gratitude to Richard Rubenstein for his exposure of the roots of Trinitarian dogma, which has not only survived but remains the governing force of orthodoxy and which will continue to pronounce an anathema upon you if you question any or all of it." Barbara's review is unswerving and insightful as always.
